Alexey Adonin

"Alexey Adonin is an abstract-surrealist painter whose work delves into memory, inner landscapes, and the unseen layers of everyday life. Guided by intuition, his process often begins with spontaneous gestures or soundscapes, gradually evolving into intricate, layered compositions. These works blur the line between internal states and imagined terrains, inviting viewers into contemplative spaces beyond literal representation.

Central to Adonin’s practice is an interest in what lies beneath the surface — the subtle, the overlooked, the quietly persistent. His paintings are built through organic forms and shifting textures that evoke transformation, fragility, and the presence of something just out of reach. Rather than provide answers, his work encourages introspection and a heightened sensitivity to the emotional and perceptual nuances of experience.

Adonin seeks formal representation as a means of expanding the reach and resonance of his work, connecting with audiences and professionals who value complexity, subtlety, and slow engagement. In the coming year, he aims to develop a new body of work centered on the themes of impermanence and silent transformation — furthering his exploration of emotional depth through abstract forms.

He has participated in both solo and group exhibitions, and views collaboration as essential to creative growth. Whether through open studios, shared projects, or informal exchanges with fellow artists, he actively engages in dialogue that supports mutual learning and artistic evolution."

Before Time, 80 x 100 cm / 31.5 x 39.4 in, Oil on canvas, 2025

"Before Time envisions a moment suspended in pre-existence—before the emergence of time itself, when Earth and Life had yet to be formed. The scene evokes a primordial stillness, where creation exists only as an elusive thought in the mind of a Creator. Shrouded in deep cosmic hues, subtle forms drift in a timeless void. The painting becomes a meditation on the mystery of origin, where existence remains pure potential—unrealized, untouched, and eternal."

2024_Sanctum_(300dpi) - Alexey Adonin.jpg

Sunctum, 100 x 80 cm / 39.4 x 31.5 in, Oil on canvas, 2024

"A subconscious excavation—Sanctum uncovers a space where ancient memory and inner vision merge. The glowing horizon suggests hidden truths, while layered forms evoke relics from a forgotten world. This is a visual journey into mystery, where organic and geometric shapes reflect the balance between intuition and reason."

2024_All_Roads_Lead_to_Heaven_(300dpi) - Alexey Adonin.jpg

All Roads Lead to Heaven, 100 x 80 cm / 39.4 x 31.5 in, Oil on canvas, 2024

"This work reflects the philosophical idea that while we may choose different paths in life, all of them ultimately lead to the same destination—our destiny. The painting is a symbolic journey through complexity and choice, where each road is part of a greater, unseen design. It speaks to the hope that, regardless of the route taken, the end leads to truth, meaning, and perhaps, heaven."
