Inês Matos

“In my work, I revere the intersection of painting, collage, and sculpture. Drawing inspiration from the domestic environment, I incorporate materials that resonate with everyday life, including recycled scraps, threads, and second-hand clothing pieces. My artistic practice embraces an interplay of composition and material, where my embroidered gestural marks suggest moments of physical and psychological presence. These marks intertwine with traces of textile patterns, organic elements, and textural marks, fostering a sense of familiarity and connection with the viewer. In embracing a fluid approach to creativity, I aim to continuously evolve and explore new paths within my artistic practice.”
