"Irena Paskali was born 1969 in Macedonia, she currently lives and works in Cologne. Before studying at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, where she finished her Master of Arts in 2007, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Skopje. "I sold news for free at the open market in Atakpame, Togo. People were very curious and wanted to know what I was selling. New news, fake news, old news. I sold the news in the local language Ifi in the Kamina Atakpame region. Artist in Residency Karp Kamina 2022. News and propaganda can influence people and determine how they perceive reality. Whoever has the power over words has the power over people."

"I think the subject of »mirrored time« is a good playful idea that each of us has always experienced. The past is reflected in memories, in photos, on tombstones and the present can be literally reflected physically. I developed my video installation in which I mirror moving images in an imaginative space with my artistic way. For me, the room is consolation for all opposites, a spiritual purification from the past to the present. A mirror that is always changing, breaks this mirror into many pieces, creating a new shape, a reflection of space and time."
