Izosceles
"As an interdisciplinary artist, Izosceles creates visuals that are rooted in personal experience and the emotional landscape of the human condition. They draw inspiration from memory and emotion of lived experience, translating these into playful visual narratives. Working primarily in digital mediums, they combine illustration, animation, 3D modeling, and creative writing to build layered stories that invite the viewer into vibrant, emotionally charged worlds.
Izosceles’s creative process is both intuitive and intentional. Each visual begins as a sketch, usually sparked by a feeling or memory, which gradually builds with intentional digital linework and flat colors. Though the tools are digital, the visuals are tangible and emotional, grounded in real moments, dreams, and inner dialogues. Through a single image, the figures bring the audience into their worlds, usually through figures who are emotionally reflective of Izosceles and their world. Through a single frame, the visuals convey entire narratives, pulling the audience into their reality and encouraging a deeper emotional engagement. Each composition is thoughtfully balanced with regard to shape and color, combining the aesthetics of Pop Art with the storytelling of Neo-Expressionism.
Izosceles challenges the preconceived notions viewers may have about traditional art forms. While cartoons and illustrations are often overlooked, their visuals aim to elevate these styles to the same level of attention through the strong use of narrative, color, and emotion. By elevating the whimsical and the narrative, they expand what is considered valuable in visual culture. Through storytelling and playful visuals, Izosceles welcomes viewers to explore the whimsical yet moving worlds, acting as mirrors for human emotion. Izosceles’s visuals celebrate the human responses in us all."

Jazz-soul-funk, 40 x 30 in, Digital Art on Canvas, 2016
"I was listening to an upbeat, jazzy record one Sunday morning and it made me wanna get up and dance. It made me want to flabble my limbs around as if I had no bones to restrict my energy. I was feeling the rhythm and I wanted to produce a visual that inspires a smile and invokes a sense of happiness and joy."

Luelle's Lullaby, 40 x 26 in, Digital Art on Canvas, 2016
"Embellishment. In my mind I knew I wanted the outcome to be this over-embellished visual with fun references to pop-culture. Unlike most of how my visuals begin in my brain, this time I didn't have a distinct idea of how I wanted the focal-point figure to be or look like. it's surroundings were key first. Eventually I came up with a figure with a pink wavy bob and a no face tattoo singing her pet flamingo to sleep."

Forever Here, 40 x 30 in, Digital Art on Canvas, 2019
"I wanted a visual that had a wide-range of fun colors and that didn't focus on just one or a few. In my head one day I saw this figure with ocean blue hair being cuddled amongst a bunch of animals and how at peace that is to her. How it brings her comfort as she sleeps surrounded by them like a bed and how the figure wants to spend forever there - Forever Here."
