Jingjie Lei
"Lei Jingjie (b. 2001, Enshi, China) is a young artist working primarily in painting.
His practice examines the relationship between creator and medium, exploring themes of memory, absence, and perception. By capturing and reconstructing visual fragments—both individual and collective—he reveals how emotional residues and perceptual ruptures shape our understanding of the self and the other. The concept of “the missed” that underpins his practice refers not only to the forgotten or overlooked, but also to the regret in life, a personality defect, an emotional delay, or a contradiction between reality and fantasy.
Lei's works have been collected by private collectors including Jackie Chan, as well as art institutions, and have received media coverage from major platforms such as CCTV News."

"People only look ahead, not directly into the back of their heads, and their perception of themselves and the world is thus limited to the "half".
I can easily see the back of other people's heads, but never see my own, which becomes a kind of everyday oblivion. Nowadays, most urbanites are too involved in their immediate lives to slow down and feel themselves. They have lost a part of their awareness and are unable to have an objective interpretation of their current lives. The back of everyone's head is like a missing piece, just as the regret in life, a personality defect, an emotional retardation, or a contradiction between reality and fantasy . . . Based on this, I decided to present the "other half" to people with paintings, in an attempt to make up those deficiencies in life."
